On the solemnity of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bishop George Murry, S.J. of Youngstown, OH issued a Decree formally approving and establishing the Missionary Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. He presided over the liturgical ceremony at Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish, where he announced the Decree and clothe the foundress with the religious habit.
The Missionary Sisters of Saint Francis of Assisi were founded in the spirit of the apostolic letter, Motu Proprio Ecclesia Dei Adflicta of Pope John Paul II, and the Summorum Pontificum of Pope Benedict XVI. We seek to cultivate the formation of the active religious vocations of those called by God, to express such, in light of the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.
Our primary apostolate is assisting parents who wish to “home school” in the faith formation and education of their children. Our aim is to assist in strengthening families by providing a high quality, solid, Catholic Education. We administrate St. Joseph the Protector Learning Center which is located at Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish in Vienna, Ohio. The Center offers a blended learning environment, which means, some classes are taught on site, while others are offered online. It is our goal to assist the family in the education of their children so that the children can in turn, not only become lights, but guiding lights for Christ in the world.
With a missionary spirit, and embracing the Church’s Magisterial teachings in total fidelity, we endeavor to assist in the renewal of Church and Society. Striving to be collaborators and instruments in the battle for the realization of Christ's Kingdom, within ourselves and in others, we labor daily for a deeper understanding and love for our Lord and the Catholic Faith.
